Welcome Message

Welcome to another exciting school year at Valley Forge Elementary! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer break filled with wonderful memories. As we begin the new school year together, I want to extend a warm welcome to both our returning families and those joining us for the first time. This year promises to be filled with enriching experiences, academic growth, and opportunities for your child to explore their interests and talents. Our dedicated team of educators and staff are eager to support every student's learning journey and ensure they feel safe, valued, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.

Last year students worked hard to follow our motto and, “Be a PAWSitive Influence” at VFES. PAWS is an acronym used to remind students to P (Practice Respect), A (Act Responsibly), W (Work Hard Toward Goals) and S (Stay Safe).  As part of our theme, we highlighted positive character traits each month. I am proud of the way individual students and whole classrooms earned Power Paw and 100 club tickets for kind words and actions. This year, we will continue to ask students to “Be a PAWSitive Influence” at VFES and will highlight specific character traits through literature during Spirit Days the first Friday of each month. We look forward to recognizing students for their involvement and positive actions throughout the year.

Pawsitive Influence

We are also excited to launch our new Elementary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Program.   All students will have STEM as one of their special area classes each cycle. Former 1st grade teacher at VFES, Susan McCann, will be our new STEM teacher and is thrilled about the possibilities for hands-on learning, problem solving and creativity in the STEM class. Get ready to explore, experiment, and innovate on projects that build critical thinking and collaboration skills.

I look forward to seeing our students back in the classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds, ready to learn and grow together. Know that everyone at VFES is committed to working with you to support your child’s journey. I encourage you to stay connected with us through our newsletter, School and PTO websites and social media platforms, and school events. Your involvement is crucial to our shared goal of supporting each student's academic and personal development. Here's to a fantastic school year ahead!

Best wishes,

Rebecca Wills
